Restaurant Website Design UK

Restaurant websites that show off the food, take bookings, and load fast on the phone of a hungry customer.

The problem

Why restaurants & takeaways need a better website.

  1. 01

The menu is a 4-year-old PDF

Prices have moved, dishes have come and gone — and the homepage still links to last Christmas’s set menu.

  2. 02

    No online booking

Every diner is a phone call you have to answer in the middle of service.

  3. 03

Food photos look bad on mobile

Either there are no photos, or they’re 90% off-brand stock that doesn’t reflect what you actually serve.

What we build

What we build for restaurants & takeaways.

Live menu that’s actually editable

A menu structure your team can update in a tap — no PDFs, no waiting for the developer.

Online booking integration

Connect OpenTable, ResDiary or your booking platform of choice — or build it bespoke.

Photo gallery built for the food

Properly cropped, properly lit hero shots and a gallery that loads instantly on 4G.

Opening hours & live status

Hours, holidays and "kitchen closes at 9:30" notes always in sync.

Map + directions block

One tap to Apple/Google Maps from any device.

Why us

Mobile-first, fast on bad signal

Most of your customers find you on a phone, while walking, on patchy mobile data. We build for that first — and the desktop version is a nice bonus.

Pricing

What this typically costs.

Most independent restaurants start with a Launch Page (from £799). Multi-location groups usually need a Business Website (from £1,999).

Why most restaurant websites lose bookings to competitors

  • A 4-year-old menu PDF as the "menu" — prices wrong, dishes gone, and terrible on mobile
  • No online booking — every table is a phone interruption to your service
  • Bad or missing photography of the food you actually serve
  • No allergen information, forcing anxious diners to phone before they’ll book
  • Loads slowly on 4G, which is exactly where a hungry customer is searching from

What your restaurant website actually needs

  • A live, editable menu — never a PDF — with prices and allergen information
  • Online booking on every page (OpenTable, ResDiary or bespoke — your call)
  • Real food photography, properly cropped for hero and gallery use
  • Opening hours, live status ("kitchen closes at 21:30") and map/directions
  • Fast mobile load times because your customers are searching on the street

What about takeaway and delivery?

Deliveroo and Just Eat aren’t going anywhere, and we generally recommend restaurants keep using them for delivery reach. Where we add value is the direct-order flow on your own site — no 30% platform fee, customer data you own, and repeat-order incentives that platforms won’t let you run. For groups big enough to justify it, a bespoke ordering portal pays back the £2,500 investment in three months.

What we include in the standard restaurant package

  • Editable live menu with allergen information
  • Booking integration (OpenTable, ResDiary or similar)
  • Photo gallery with guided food photography brief
  • Opening hours and live-status block on every page
  • Map, directions and click-to-call
  • Mobile-first responsive design tuned for 4G

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can you handle online ordering as well as booking?
Yes. For bookings we integrate OpenTable, ResDiary and similar. For online ordering, we can embed platform ordering (Deliveroo, Just Eat) or build a bespoke direct-ordering portal (from £2,500 additional).
Do you handle food photography?
We don’t shoot ourselves, but we brief and direct a local photographer — and give you a shot list tuned to what actually converts on web (hero shots, gallery grid, and the classic overhead flat-lay).
How do you handle allergens and dietary information?
Every menu item gets an allergen field in the CMS. On the front-end we surface it in the menu row and again in the item detail — meeting Natasha’s Law expectations for pre-packaged food where applicable.
How long does a restaurant website take to build?
A Launch Page for a single-site restaurant is typically 2 weeks from kickoff. Multi-location groups with booking and ordering integration usually run 3-4 weeks.
Do you need to be in Cardiff?
No. We work with restaurants and takeaways across the UK.
